Jacob Phillips
Vice President, Member Experience
Canvas Credit Union
Jacob has proudly served the credit union movement since 2006. He began his journey as a financial services representative for his credit union’s contact center, where he learned directly from members of their needs, friction points, and opportunities. That experience served as a springboard for gaining a deeper and broader understanding of credit union operations across many topics. Since then, Jacob has served Canvas CU in many roles of increasing responsibility: branch supervisor, contact center manager, lending systems analyst, director of business intelligence, AVP of product strategy & innovation, AVP of retail operations, and his current role as VP of member experience.
Along the way, Jacob pursued additional development opportunities outside of Canvas’ walls to further bolster his skills. To name a few, he is a high-honors graduate of WCMS (Omicron class of 2017), a certified scrum product owner (CSPO), a certified credit union financial counselor (CCUFC), a member of GoWest’s Innovation Acceleration Committee, a frequent ambassador for credit unions in governmental affairs, and a regular supporter of the Denver Area Chapter of CUs.
Jacob is profoundly grateful for the many opportunities afforded to him by others. In turn, he is deeply committed to paying it forward to the next generation of credit union advocates, to help ensure our movement thrives indefinitely.
