Current students and graduates of WCMS are eligible for membership in
the Western CUNA Management School Alumni Association. Our students

meeting others who have graduated is a great way of maintaining and
developing their careers.

About
the Association
The
Alumni Association was founded in 1981 to meet two needs: support of
WCMS administration and currently enrolled students, and support for
graduates in any activity that enhances the position of the school and/or
advances the cause of credit union management and education.

Opening
Weekend - Members of the Alumni Association have a tradition of
welcoming students to the campus on opening weekend and assisting the
school by providing transportation from the airport, lunch, refreshments,
and other activities.
Scholarships
- Each year, the Association provides two scholarships to students:
The Mario Conforti Memorial Scholarship and the R.J. "Bob"
Toohey Founder's Scholarship.
The
Mario Conforti Scholarship: In the summer of 1981, the students and
alumni of WCMS lost a very special friend - Dr. Mario Conforti. A long-time
instructor at WCMS, left his indelible imprint on the school's curriculum
and the lives of its students. As a tribute to him, the Alumni Association
was formed and a trust, The Mario Conforti Memorial Scholarship Fund,
was established and is administered by the Alumni Association.
The
Bob Toohey Founder's Scholarship: In 1997, to recognize his twenty-five
years of service to the school and his founding of the Alumni Association,
the board and members of the Association instituted a second annual
scholarship, the R.J. "Bob" Toohey Founder's Scholarship.

Educational/Networking
Conferences - The Alumni Association sponsors two networking conferences
each year, one in the winter and the other in conjunction with the summer
session of the school. Topics of current interest and importance to
credit unions are carefully selected and presented by qualified professionals.
These conferences are open only to WCMSAlumni and current students.
James
D. Likens Alumni Recognition Award - Each year during the commencement
ceremony, the Alumni Association presents a past graduate of WCMS with
the James D. Likens Alumni Recognition Award. This award is given to
honor significant achievements in the credit union field since graduation
from the school. The criteria for the award are professional growth
in the individual's credit union career and significant service to the
credit union community.
